I was there as a: Overnight RV'er, Family with children

This camp ground has little to offer. It is NOT well maintained and the staff are NOT helpful or courteous. The beaches were a mess for a month and a half into their season. The beaches were not groomed and the dock and slide were up on the beach. Surely, after a month and a half the beaches would be operational. We heard about a second beach with in the same park, however, it was in the same state of disarray. When all this park has to offer is a park with zero shade or cover and two beaches: you would think they would be open for use. Actually, where the dock was placed was VERY UNSAFE for little campers. The temperatures were 28 degrees perfect for swimming....lots of unhappy people. The park collected their money and has fallen very short of delivering. VERY UNHAPPY CAMPER!!!

Sun Retreats Georgian Bay: Good afternoon. We are sorry you are unhappy regarding some of your concerns, as we pride ourselves not only in superior service, but a superior overall experience for all of our guests and seasonals who call it their "home away from home" each and every summer. As you may be aware, the water levels throughout Ontario have been VERY high at this point in the season due to snow melt off and the continuous rainfalls/high winds we have had, especially in our area here in Parry Sound area. These factors have contributed to the winds washing away the extra sand we have already groomed the beaches with, however, we will continue to grade the beaches regularly and hope for mother nature's cooperation going forward. The beaches are checked regularly for garbage and debris by our team members, however, we also encourage full cooperation of our guests to respect our family friendly resort and the environment; treat it like their own home! We do know the raft you have mentioned was carried to another location by some guests where it should not have been and we did rectify the location once it was reported. The continuous weather conditions have not allowed us to launch our docks and slides perhaps as early as we have in past however, the weather is unfortunately beyond our control. We have notified our guests and seasonals on our Facebook page that we have been working diligently to prepare for these launches and the anticipated date for launch of the docks and slides will on or before June 23 (weather determined). We truly hope you will visit us again this season and take advantage of our many amenities perhaps you may not be familiar with: horseshoes, crafts for all ages, the glorious hiking and biking trails, kids planned activities, our onsite store, darts and fishing, a playground for the children, basketball, volleyball, and of course evening yummy S'mores by the campfire. In the future, we would love to hear from you during your stay so that we can immediately attend to your needs and ensure your stay is nothing short of excellent. Should you have any further questions or concerns, we would be happy to discuss with you directly. Thanks kindly, Jennifer - Trailside Community Manager (705-378-2844) or trailside@suncommunities.com
