Debster

I was there as a: Overnight RV'er, Single person/couple

We stayed two nights at this campground. It was a little confusing since you actually had to leave the park and get back onto the outside road and take another road to the area we were on. The park is separated by a creek and there are some RV sites and tenting sites on the other side. We had paid for our company that were coming in the next day and when they arrived they weren't given clear directions like were given to us and they drove around the park a few times until they saw us across the creek and were asking people directions. We then saw them and headed over to the pedestrian bridge to direct them over to the other side. I had seen on this OPCA site that they had Wi Fi at the sites but was never told there was a charge. You were given a few minute loaner time of it then you needed an access code. I went to the front desk to get the code and was told it was $5.00 a day. She then asked how many devices we had and I said two then charged me $10.............I wasn't told it was per device per day. I think that is a little hefty since most parks offer it free of charge. We had water and hydro hook up and grey water only, this was our first time encountering this as well All in all we liked our site and were glad we didn't have anyone beside us or it would have been very tight. It is a very small park but plenty of room for walking around.

Prospect Hill Camping Grounds: Thank you for the review. We are a small, family run campground, with smaller roadways and more than one entrance way. All of our transient sites are along Fish Creek, on either side. In order to comply with Upper Thames Conservation, our bridges within the park are walking bridges only. We do have 2 entrances into the campground to accommodate our campers. We understand and apologize for the confusion, however this is not something we have control over. It's a new season, we have new staff every year, we do our best to train them but yes they do make mistakes which is what happened in this case. Wifi is optional and there is a fee to use it. We just upgraded our entire system at a very large expense to make it more convenient for our campers to use at their sites. We appreciate the feedback in regards to how the staff handled the sale and will have them better explain the per device charge. In an effort to keep our nightly camping rates affordable, wifi is the campers choice to purchase, as opposed to imposing the fees on all campers. Our campsites are actually quite large and spacious. We just built the sites being discussed and have gotten lots of positive feedback. We have had all the sites full at various times and this is the first negative feedback about being too small. We appreciate this review and will use it to better train our staff and make the next campers stay one they can enjoy. Thank you, R Quinlan, Manager
