I was there as a: Cottage/Cabin Renter, Family with children

Don't waste your money! As soon as we got into our cottage we noticed there was NOTHING to cook with. No BBQ utensils nothing so make sure to bring everything with you. Even though we were told only linens needed, also says that on their website. They offer a stove that doesn't work. They offer a BBQ with nothing to cook with. They "filled" the propane... didn't even have enough to cook our breakfast... They offered a "beach" with no sand and not clean at all. You cannot bring in your own wood because apperently it's illegal even though we bought it local. So we have to pay $11.30 extra for 7 pieces of wood. They offer horseshoes... with no horse shoe. Need another garbage bag? Charged extra for that too. They offer a "ship playground" that is falling apart and make sure your children don't make noise or you'll get stared at. They offered to allow visitors as long as social distancing and limit of people were not over the amount. Then the owner proceeded to YELL at us saying that we were not allowed. Did I mention the owner yelled at us and our guests! Spent $600 to sleep that's it. NEVER GOING BACK!

Bensfort Bridge Resort: Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at our campground. Our campground prides itself on ensuring the safety of our guests. It is for this reason we are not allowing any visitors due to COVID-19 and our commitment to protect those camped here. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope you understand our concern. This message was part of our welcome package which was given to you on arrival. There appeared to be some mis-communication on which appliance required propane, as we re-filled the BBQ not the stove (the appliance requiring propane). We apologize for the misunderstanding. We will review the wording around what is and what is not included in the kitchen area. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. Moving firewood in Ontario is not permitted, which is why we sell firewood at the campground. Our blue boxes of firewood contain 24 pieces of firewood. Horseshoes are available at the office. We do not leave them on the pits for two reasons. We do not want children to throw the horseshoes and misdirect them to where someone could be hurt. We also do not want horseshoes removed from the pits, and thrown in the river, or taken home by campers. The information on where to get the horseshoes is contained in your welcome guide. Our township encourages all businesses to minimize the impact of visitor garbage. To encourage waste reduction we provide 1 garbage per stay. Most two day guests can be accommodated with 1 garbage bag. Our playground equipment meets all safety standards, and to date we have not received any other complaints regarding its state of repair. While the shoreline is not covered in sand, the river bottom does have sand, and there is a swim platform in the water. Thank you for your comments.

I was there as a: Overnight RV'er, Family with children

I have been going to Bensfort bridge resort for close to 30 years first with my children and now heading there this month with my granddaughter.Always found Doug and Jenny very friendly people,a well kept park very clean and a place where I could be comfortable bringing my children, and now grandchildren. My kids love to fish and the excitement in there faces when they landed a big fish, whether a muskie or pickerel.Great fishing there and very friendly people.I would definitely recommend Bensfort Bridge to anyone for a great vacation.Spent close to 3 weeks up there last year and had a very good time.Looking forward to heading up there this month and my granddaughter keeps asking when are we going grampa, and I tell her soon.Last year was the first time I had ever been on the huge lift locks about 20 minutes down the river,I got a big kick out of it and I know my granddaughter will love it as she screams all the way to the top of the locks pretty amazing if you have never been on them.Paul Carson

I'm 28 years of age and have been coming to Bensfort Bridge Resort with my family my whole life! The fishing is great, just last weekend I caught 2 large pickerel and 1 large bass! You can catch lots of bass pickerel and muskies. I love going to the resort to relax by the campfire, play exciting games of volleyball, suntan, swim by the river, boat and of course fish! If you like doing any of this I would definitely recommend coming to Bensfort Bridge Resort! I love this place and plan on one day bringing a family of my own here.
