2025 Annual Convention Summary

Crowne Plaza – Kitchener Waterloo | November 16–19, 2025

The 2025 Camping In Ontario Annual Convention brought together campground owners, managers, and industry partners for four days of learning, networking, celebration, and collaboration.

The event kicked off on November 16 with the much-anticipated Campground Tour, a perennial favourite among delegates. Attendees began their day at Willow Lake Campground and RV Park, enjoying breakfast poutine while exploring the small-but-mighty park. Next, delegates visited Happy Hills Resort, where a scenic wagon ride showcased the expansive property. A delicious lunch awaited everyone at Country Gardens RV Park, accompanied by remarks from the Tour Sponsor, App My Community. The tour concluded at Landings Campground, highlighting its impressive state-of-the-art septic system.

That evening, the convention officially opened with Sunday Funday, giving delegates an opportunity to reconnect, unwind, and enjoy an evening filled with food, fun, and friendship.

Monday began with an energizing and emotional keynote from Dr. Jasmin Bergeron, who equipped attendees with powerful, practical strategies to create the coveted “WOW Effect” for campers. The day continued with CampEx, which sold out again this year. More than 40 official CIO Suppliers—offering everything from reservation software to docks, gate systems, engineering services, insurance, retail, rental accommodations, and more—connected with campground professionals in a bustling exhibit environment.

Also new on Monday morning was the first-ever Manager’s Session, Pivoting During the High Season, which tackled operational planning, data-driven decision-making, and strategies for responding effectively to unexpected challenges. The afternoon included two high-value update sessions: Septic and Water, and Navigating the New CIO Website.

Monday night wrapped up with the always-popular Annual Auction supporting the Special Projects Fund. With the help of entertaining auctioneers, delegates enjoyed a lively evening that raised funds and spirits.

Tuesday began with another excellent meal before attendees participated in morning education sessions. The Annual General Meeting followed, giving members an opportunity to connect on governance and organizational direction. After lunch, the full delegation joined a Municipal Consultations Update on development charges related to campground upgrades. Member feedback provided CIO with clear direction to continue advocating against the imposition of development charges on campgrounds. The afternoon offered additional education sessions before delegates dressed up for the highlight of the evening—the Campers’ Choice Awards Dinner. Delegates departed on Wednesday with renewed energy, strengthened connections, and actionable ideas to bring back to their campgrounds.

A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors—your support makes this convention possible, and your contributions help strengthen the entire outdoor hospitality industry.
