What's behind the membership!

Membership Experience and Value

We back our membership in the Association with over five decades of expertise, enabling every member to draw from a wealth of industry knowledge and proven practices. Campground owners and managers lead our strong governance culture, designing all initiatives and activities to deliver quality products and meaningful support for our members.

When you consider where to invest your membership dollars, you will find no better option. Our Association stands as the premier community for campground operators, providing unmatched dedication and resources designed specifically for this sector. If you operate a campground, this is your community—a place where we fully represent your interests and support your business.

Our History and Mission

A group of dedicated campground owners established Camping In Ontario (OPCA) 50 years ago to ensure their voices were heard and their interests represented. Today, many original campgrounds continue as active members, demonstrating the association’s ongoing relevance and value. Members renew year after year because Camping In Ontario remains devoted exclusively to representing campgrounds and tackling the unique challenges our industry faces. Other associations exist, but only we focus solely on campgrounds in Ontario. As we represent more businesses, our collective voice grows stronger. We reinvest all funds raised by the association into activities that support our members and advance our mission.

Governance Structure

Campground owners or managers, elected by our members, oversee the association as directors. Directors serve three-year terms and may serve up to three terms. We ensure our board reflects diverse campground sizes and locations across Ontario. Members hold elections for board positions during the Annual General Meeting every November. The executive team—Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer—receives annual appointments. Our board actively enhances member education, boosts marketing opportunities for members, and advocates for their interests.

All Inclusive Memberships

We designed membership in the Association to be inclusive, offering a comprehensive range of benefits to every member. Each membership includes three fundamental pillars: education, marketing, and advocacy. These pillars empower members with ongoing support and resources to grow their businesses, expand their knowledge, and ensure their interests receive representation at all levels of government.

For further details on the specific benefits associated with each pillar, please refer to the member benefit page.
